He is not good. I don't like him. Why ?

This was a perfect sunny Saturday. I was sitting on a bench in a garden, enjoying the Sun and watching kids playing with their full energy.

Usually I like to spend half an hour or so of my weekend in a place when I am sitting under open sky in day time, somewhere in a garden or off-side the road on the benches and observe my thoughts as they come, revisit the happenings of the week and also thinking about my goals.

Behind me, on another bench, there were two persons discussing something. Their conversation was so clear to me that I became a passive listener to it.

"You know what, I get along with him OK but, somehow his way of thinking and handling matters does not inspire me a lot. He is always too concerned about the money he spends ! the buying We do ! and always manages to find some critic advice for me ! Such a bad habit he has ! " One said.

"I agree with you", another replied. "I have experienced similar things with him".

Friends, I could make out easily that they were talking about somebody who is a common friend or a known human being. It just reminded me of one of Eleanor Roosevelt's quotes that "Great minds discuss ideas. Average minds discuss events. Small minds discuss people.".

My intention here is not to conclude that the above two persons discussing this are small minds and not good people but to draw the attention to something else, which is very common in the society, be it for friends, known people or co-workers. 

It is called bad mouthing, ill words or gossiping.  I have heard many times people saying " What's the Gossip mate ? Very stimulating it seems, isn't' it ?

You know what ? Whenever you talk bad or ill of somebody, whenever you discuss people in a bad talk, you waste your energy. In another way, you are giving away your power in vain which should have been utilized at something good. 

When you do this, you get a pseudo feeling and a sense of false satisfaction, which is just nothing and you don't realize the energy you lost by doing that. 

On the way of becoming a great soul, a MUST important step is "Stop Doing This". Stop talking or discussing people. You will realize soon that you are feeling good inside by not doing this and also getting time to think on 1000 better things you are meant to do.

It is something which comes by a gradual practice. But if you are determined to work on it, you can control what you think and talk.

Ponder this dear friends ! Your thoughts and words are precious. Just a limited life you get so why to waste on small and useless things ?

I am in YOU....so you better behave yourself

The greatest philosopher of the Universe and our dearest Lord Krishna has said in Srimad Bhagavad Geeta: "ममैवांशो जीवलोके जीवभूतः सनातनः ". That means " It is an eternal portion of Me that becomes the Jiva in the world of living creatures."

Friends, it's me again. A Man with a Motive, with some good views on the other two elements of our body, i.e. our soul and heart.

We have discussed enough about how to keep our body healthy, light and fit. All those principles apply to our heart also as far as its physical health is concerned.So in most of this post, it is all about our soul.

With regard to our Soul, in the above Shloka, Shri Krishna says that in every human being, it is HE who creates liveliness by becoming part of Jiva, which we know as Soul in other words. 

When Lord himself says that I live in you, don't you think that it becomes the first and foremost priority of human being to make sure that the place where God lives should be pure, clean and divine? That's why we keep our temples and Devalayas clean ! Isn't that so ? I know you agree with me on that.

If I go on and write about the nature, importance and existence of a soul, surely this post will become so lengthier and theoretical that you may leave it in the middle. So I am not going to do that. What I am going to do is to write something about keeping our souls clean, pure and divine, which take ourselves to being human in a true sense.

Some theories and research, according to Hindu Mythology, say that there are three essences of Soul. These are" Intellect, feelings/emotions and your cultural treasure. If we believe these theories, the following practices will immensely help in keeping our soul divine and pure forever:

- Meditation to keep our intellect power live;

- Positive thinking and attitude to keep our feelings / emotions in a good state; and

- Education / Reading and its understanding to keep our cultural treasure (Sanskaar) intact

We have already discussed each of them in the earlier two posts so will not detail that again here.

When God created Human, he bestowed Human with all the powers and capabilities so that Human can learn how to survive and progress in this world. He also blessed Human with a sense of goodness for others around so that we be good to others and to ourselves.

Now, just because HE gifted these powers to us, that doesn't mean we can use them straight away. First of all, we need to understand that we have these powers and strengths and we have to awake them inside our soul and that needs an effort. We need to act in that direction. Only We can do our well. 

That very well matches with what Mahatma Gandhi said. He said" Always aim at complete harmony of thought and word and deed. Always aim at purifying your thoughts and everything will be well".

That completes our discussion about the four important elements of YOU. 

One more thing, I am totally overwhelmed by your responses, comments and feedback many of you have provided. I thank you from deep my heart inside for the response, comments and feedback I have received.

Your Mind Has Magnificent Power

It is 8 pm in the night and I am standing in my balcony, looking at the dark sky and gazing shining and glittering stars. Thousands of miles away from me, up in the sky, an airplane is taking its passengers to a certain destination. It is very windy and cloudy weather. Electricity supplies are playing hide and seek in the town. And I am standing here, wondering about the power of the human mind which invented all these amazing things. s of

Just imagine, how heavy an airplane is and it flies up in the air thousand miles with the power of its engine originally invented by pair of great human minds years ago, Wright Brothers. And also think about the magical strength of the mind of another great personality, Benjamin Franklin, first person to discover that lightning was a naturally occurring form of electricity. There are hundreds of examples we have in front of us if we want to count, the people who invented / discovered amazing things and powers in human world and we are enjoying the benefits everyday.

All inventions / discoveries originate from our mind only and it proves how powerful our mind is ! In fact, it would not be wrong to say that it is a magic pot which generate these fertile ideas and provides you an amazing thinking power to help you realize your ideas and achieve what you aim for. This is a precious gift God has given us so that we can think in good directions, act accordingly and produce results which are for betterment of man-kind and at the same time take you on the path of success. 

A very famous businessman and a great personality, W. Clement Stone, has said that " Whatever your mind can perceive, it can achieve. It is, therefore, very important that we take extreme care of what we think and what direction we give to our thoughts. 

You may have heard of hundreds and thousands of products in the market which claim that by using them you can keep your mind strong, powerful and healthy. It may be true but for that you may have to spend some dollars for buying those products. Today, I will try to write some useful and important things in this post, which have been proven helpful in keeping our minds healthy and pure to the most extent. 

1. Learn something new everyday

Now don't tell me " we have finished our college long back, we are grown up and we are in a job now so don't tell us to go back to school again, pick a book and read it religiously". I am not saying that. All students already have that opportunity in every day's life but the people who work for living also have opportunities everyday to go to job and learn something new in the field in which they have been working. Many companies also keep libraries in their office and keep many books on self-help, positive thinking, motivation, self-inspiration and autobiographies of famous personalities.

What you can do is go to such libraries (to your community library if you don't have one in your office) and select a good book and start reading it everyday. There will be many benefits to you. The most important is, whenever you read something, you give some food to your mind and engaging it to think on something. It provides a sort of exercise to your brain and it remains active. If the book is directly related to the developments in your area of work, you will keep yourself ahead of your other colleagues by learning something new.

2. Think and discuss something good / productive  

Eleanor Roosevelt has said that Great minds discuss ideas, average minds discuss events, small minds discuss people. 

What we need to learn out of this is to stop thinking and talking bad / ill of people. People waste lot of time on this if you observe in our society, in our offices or in our community groups. By discussing ill of people, a human being just gives away his/her energy which could have been used somewhere else. And you know one thing, whatever you think and speak constantly, even if it is about somebody else, you become that and reflect that in your behavior and in your life.

So, always think positive, think on your goals and how to get there and do not think or speak bad / ill of people.

3. Meditate / Be a Worshiper

I have earlier mentioned this in my first post also It's all About YOU. The idea of doing meditation or worshiping God regularly is to give super concentration of your power to your mind. It concentrates your thoughts and gives you the power to control your thoughts which will eventually be very helpful in realizing your dreams. It will also be enormously helpful in reducing your stress level.

Make it a habit and you will be amazed to see the changes in the way you think. You will feel divine and pure and will have a sense of choosing right direction in your life.

4. Share your knowledge
We have been taught since school times that in order to make our knowledge strong, we should use it more, share it more with people and refine it constantly. Actually, I have found this 100% true that whatever you teach to other people, you will never forget that much at least. This act will help you in making your knowledge base wider because before teaching to others, you will try to learn about the subject almost everything more clearly and precisely. 

Share your knowledge. By teaching somebody, you are not giving it away. In fact you are making your mind richer.

5. Eat Healthy, Sleep Well


I believe, and most of you guys will agree with me too, that the above applies in all stages of our life. You must have noticed that you feel sleepy and full after having a rich and multi-course lunch. Experts also say that if you eat spicy, oily and junk foods, it reflects in your behavior and affects your skin and body. So, food habits should be according to our level of activity and our stage of life. 

Sleeping well applies to us throughout our life because our body requires enough resting period in order to refresh and rejuvenate itself.

It's all about YOU

Tension, Work Pressure, Studies, Competition, Entrance Exams, Proving yourself in this fierce competition, promotion, threats from being fired, all about you and your career. These are the scenes which occupy most of the human minds in today's life. Whatever career field you take, whatever your occupation is, whatever you are studying (or even your children are studying), these things have completely taken over human mind and to the extent our LIVES even !!!

In the race of achieving all what we have wished for in our life, we just keep on ignoring somebody, who is the very most important individual in our life, Ourselves !!


It would not be wrong to say that in my life so far, at least I haven't met many human beings of today's race who haven't cared about these things in their life more than anything else. If I have to count their numbers, I can do it on my finger tips because they are a few, very few. But, if you think over all this, even if you gain in your life race, you can not subside it at the cost of yourself, your life, and your health to be more precise. Yes, I am talking about yourself.

How many of us do really care about ourselves when it comes to keep ourselves healthy and clean with a sound body and a sacred spirit and soul ? Only You can answer this and no one else because it's all about You.

I was thinking over this from last few days and finally thought to pen this down in this blog to share and get your views on this. By no means I want to say that just forget about your career, growth, goals and things you wanna achieve in your life and just be behind your health. That would also not be a wise man's thinking these days especially when everywhere the situations are like " Prove yourself " or "Who is the winner ?".


But, shouldn't we be paying equal or reasonable importance  and attention to ourselves? Our body? Our health?

There is a very old proverb that says "Health is Wealth". But the question is do we really remember this ? And if we do remember, do we practice to set this proverb as a fact in our own life?

Below here, I would like to share some of the very good tips which will be very helpful in keeping our body clean and fit and start our day with heaps of energy.

Four Elements of YOU

Basically, there are four major elements our body is comprised of. These are:


A. Body itself (physical)
B. Mind
C. Heart
D. Soul.

In this post, I will share some good tips to keep ourselves clean, fresh and energised, means take care of our body, which is the First Element of YOU.

1. Get up early in the morning:

Most important key point is related to the time when you get up in the morning. Your whole day energy level depends on this factor. The most ideal time to get up is at least one hour before the Sunrise. The time between 5 a.m. to 6.00 is usually the best considered time. If you bring this as a habit of getting up early in the morning, you will be surprised to notice your energy level going up considerably.

Ben Franklin has said that “Early to bed and early to rise makes a man healthy, wealthy and wise”.

Now, when we talk about getting up early in the morning, it is possible only when you sleep early in the night. Because your body requires on an average of 7-8 hours sleep to revitalise and rejuvenate the tissues and the physique of your body. Both sleeping early and getting up early habits are linked strongly and effective only when practised together.

Once you practice this for few days / weeks, you will be amazed to see that after a certain period, you will not even require an alarm to wake you up and your body clock will set automatically to the timing you decide as your wake up call.

2. Exercise:

Devote 20 mins - 30 mins to the exercise in the fresh air. Early morning, Walking / Jogging in the fresh air is considered as the best exercise as you get tons of fresh breaths when it is neat and pure outside and the pollution has not started to hit the air. Again the biggest advantage of this will be that early morning exercises will keep you energetic and super fresh during the whole day.

3. Meditation / Worship:

After you take bath, spend 20 mins - 30 mins in meditating yourself in a quite room or in front of the Deity you worship. You may also utilise this time for chanting and worshipping God. This helps you in concentrating your entire body energy towards your mind and consolidating your powers to get what you want in your life.

4. Breakfast:

Have some healthy breakfast of your choice. The right breakfast foods can help you concentrate, give you strength - even help you maintain a healthy weight. The idea is to provide some extra energy to your body because you are going to start your work / job / studies and the breakfast keeps you going till lunch. Studies have proved that eating a healthy breakfast can help give you:
  • A more nutritionally complete diet, higher in nutrients, vitamins and minerals
  • Improved concentration and performance in the classroom or the workplace
  • More strength and endurance to engage in physical activity
  • Lower cholesterol levels
 5. Wise use of your extra time you get by getting up early morning

Now, since you start getting up early, you will have some extra time for some activity. Utilize this extra time for reading / studying. For students, it is the best time to study because your mind is not occupied with thousands of thoughts and it is very very fresh and empty. Studying early morning will help you improving your grasping level and increasing your memory power. For adults, it is advisable to read some good book which flows positive energies and thoughts to your body and mind. You feel fresh and powerful all day.

You will have some considerable extra time compared to many people in the world, giving you an added advantage, an edge to be successful in your life and achieve what you want, than compared to other people.
